Connecting your shop is the first step to using Vela.
Once connected, Vela automatically imports your listings, product details, and photos so you can manage everything in one dashboard—no switching between platforms or exporting files manually.

You can connect multiple shops across supported marketplaces including Etsy, Shopify, Faire, and eBay, with more soon to come. Each shop appears in your Shops Menu, where you can toggle between them and view plan or trial status.

1. Before you connect

Before connecting a shop, make sure you have:

  • A valid account on the marketplace you’re connecting (e.g., Etsy or Shopify).
  • Access to the shop owner’s login credentials for authorization.
  • A stable internet connection during setup (to ensure listings import properly).

Note: Connecting a shop does not make any changes to your live listings. It simply syncs them into Vela for management and editing.

2. How to connect a shop

  1. Open the Shops Menu
    From your main dashboard, click the Shops Menu in the upper left corner.
  2. Click “Add Shop”
    This opens a list of available platforms you can connect.
  3. Choose your marketplace
    Select Etsy, Shopify, Faire,  eBay, etc. then click Connect.
  4. Authorize the connection
    You’ll be redirected to the marketplace’s login or permissions page. Sign in and grant Vela permission to access your shop data.
  5. Wait for sync
    Vela will begin importing your listings, product data, and photos automatically. This may take a few minutes depending on your shop size.

Once synced, your connected shop appears in the main list within the Shops Menu.

3. Managing connected shops

After connecting, you can:

  • Toggle between shops using the dropdown in the Shops Menu
  • Copy listings and profiles between shops
  • Merge listings into a linked record
  • Edit multi-shop listings by switching between tabs in the listing editor, preserving unique details for each shop and platform

If you sell on multiple platforms, connecting all of them lets you see and manage every product in one unified dashboard. There is no limit to the number of shops you can connect to one account, but each shop can only be connected to one Vela account. Vela subscriptions are per-shop, so you'll receive a new 7-day free trial for each shop you connect, and then can choose the plan that's best for your needs.

4. Troubleshooting

If your shop does not connect after the authorization process, it may be connected to another Vela account. There is no limit to the number of shops you can connect to one account, but each shop can only be connected to one Vela account. We can transfer the shop to your new account to help streamline your shop management. Just click the Support button in the bottom left of your screen to request a shop transfer.
